Our Story
Why we Created VillageNetwork
When people move to our community, one of the first things they notice is just how much there is to do. From nightly entertainment to clubs, gatherings, and local events, The Villages offers something for everyone. But with so many options, it can sometimes be hard for newcomers to know where to start.
That’s why we created VillageNetwork.
VillageNetwork was built as a simple, helpful place where residents—especially those new to the area—can quickly find information about nightly activities and explore what our community has to offer. My goal is to make it easier for people to get involved, meet others, and feel at home.
This site was created with the hope that it helps anyone who may need a little guidance while discovering everything that makes our community such a great place to live.
The Town Squares at The Villages
One of the most unique and enjoyable parts of life in The Villages is its Town Squares. These squares serve as central gathering places where residents and visitors come together to relax, socialize, and enjoy nightly entertainment.
Every evening, each square hosts free live music and entertainment, typically starting around 5 PM and continuing into the evening. Residents often bring lawn chairs, meet friends, dance in the square, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. The energy is lively but welcoming, making it a popular nightly tradition for many people in the community.
The three main squares each have their own personality:

Spanish Springs Town Square – The original square with a Spanish-style theme. It features beautiful fountains, colorful architecture, and a classic Florida charm.

Lake Sumter Landing Market Square – A waterfront square designed to resemble a seaside town, complete with a lighthouse and scenic views.

Brownwood Paddock Square – The newest of the three, designed with a rustic Florida cattle-town theme and a large outdoor stage for entertainment.
Performing Arts & Entertainment Venues
In addition to the nightly free entertainment at the town squares, The Villages also offers several paid entertainment venues that host larger productions and professional performances. Popular venues include the Sharon L. Morse Performing Arts Center, the Savannah Center, and the Tracy Performing Arts Center. These theaters regularly feature concerts, touring performers, tribute bands, comedy shows, Broadway-style productions, and special events throughout the year. With comfortable seating, professional staging, and a wide variety of performances, these venues provide residents and visitors with additional opportunities to enjoy high-quality entertainment within the community.
Discover Amazing Activities at The Villages
Life in the community offers an incredible variety of activities for residents to enjoy every day. From relaxing boat excursions on the local waterways and scenic trolley tours, to lively classic car shows that showcase beautifully restored vehicles, there is always something interesting to experience. Residents can stay active with water sports, participate in energetic drumming fitness classes, or enjoy the skill and excitement of polo matches held at the local polo fields. For those seeking balance and wellness, activities such as Tai Chi provide a calm and healthy way to stay active. These are just a few examples of the many recreational and social opportunities available, making it easy for residents to stay engaged, meet new friends, and enjoy a vibrant lifestyle.
